Love the mountains? Show that love with this tabletop stained glass panel! It’s full of details that include: aspen trees, mountains, a lake, a flowering tree and a bunch of wildflowers that are called murrini. This piece comes with the iron stand pictured and measures about 10” x 8”.
To make it, I cut the glass and arranged it on a clear background. The flowers are murrini. What’s murrini? It’s a highly skilled glass form that is made in a special kiln called a vitrograph, where it melts out of the bottom in a cane form. Look at the amazing fine details on the flowers! Added next was frit-crushed glass-for the leaves and other greenery. I then fired it in my glass kiln for a day to 1300 degrees, which fused all the glass to itself.
